The Bellevue Festival of the Arts is produced and sponsored by the Craft Cooperative of the Northwest (CCNW). Formerly called the "Rest of the Best Fest", it was founded in 1984 by Steve King and other craftspeople as an alternative to the Pacific Northwest Arts and Crafts fair. The landlords collaborated with the artists and craftspeople and they were able to donate a good percentage of the proceeds of the fair to local charities. A non-profit cooperative was formed (CCNW) and has continued for 23 years with a lot of help from artists, local businesses. the Bellevue Christian School and the community at large.

CCNW welcomes your suggestions and ideas. As a grass roots effort we want to produce a crafts fair that makes a contribution to the community, both locally and globally. We want to create an environment of support and respect for artists. No commission is taken and artists who have never participated in an art fair are encouraged to apply.

We donate to local shelters and food banks, health clinics and the Lifelong AIDS Alliance, youth programs, Craft Emergency Relief Fund, Solar Cookers International, Potters for Peace and a rural teaching program in India. See the newsletter for more information.
